New Build Residence – Ribble Valley

A new rural dwelling in the heart of the Ribble Valley, due on site 2023. S-Mech completed the full substructure and superstructure design, including a feature staircase, working closely with the Architects to realise the design.

New Build Residence – Longton

New build house with full basement and sunken courtyard in Longton using insulated concrete formwork throughout. A full bar bending schedule was produced for the complete structure, with a 3D reinforcement model issued to the contractor for easy bar referencing, allow the complex concrete reinforcing bar arrangement to be efficiently installed on site .

An extensive, traditionally built new dwelling in the Ribble Valley with a substantial basement below the majority of the footprint. The full structure was detailed in 3D for interchange with the Architectural model, allowing easy visualisation of the stuctural aspects of the build.

Industrial Development – Blackburn

Design and detail of a new industrial building in Blackburn, including all steelwork, ground floor, foundation and site retaining wall requirements, including the design requirement for a possible future storage mezzanine within the building.

Domestic Extension – West Lancs

Replacement Dwelling – Lytham

Replacement Dwelling – Lytham

A substantial replacement dwelling and large annexe garage block with accommodation over, replacing a small existing bungalow on the site. An engineered foundation solution was required to overcome difficult ground conditions, and a full steel framed roof was designed above the annexe to allow for the clear open spans proposed on the Architectural layouts.

Residential Conversion – Rivington

Residential Conversion – Rivington

A complete overhaul of the existing agricultural building is proposed to allow conversion to residential use. Full 3D modelling of the structure allowed us to check the interaction of the load bearing elements with the Architectural layout and recommend some small alterations, with the aim of hiding the structure as far as possible.

Residential New Build – Ribble Valley

Four substantial new build timber framed properties in the Ribble Valley. S-Mech were responsible for the foundation and slab designs, and associated steel beam and lintel specifications, along with the full civil engineering package of highways and drainage designs.

Lightweight

S-Mech have completed the design and detail of a variety of lightweight and sculpture structures, including garden centre canopies and walkways, feature pieces and art installations. Images – DP Structures.

Commercial Development – Manchester

Commercial Development – Manchester

Structural design for a proposed new nursery building, including steel frame, load bearing SIPS panels, steel framed ground floor with SIPS infill panels, and foundation solution. A full thre dimensional building assessment was carried out to gain maximum efficiency in the design.

SIPS Structure – London

SIPS Structure – London

A large SIPS panel spa, gym and garden room building. S-Mech provided the structural design of the SIPS and the required steelwork and glulam timber elements, along with the design for a timber grillage foundation supported on screw piles.
